Underground Game Manifesto
A downloadable project
Hobbyist game developers, non-commercial projects, and game makers motivated by political utopias have a common problem: They are commonly thrown into the big category of „indie games“ along with countless tech prototypes, low effort productions, but also have to „compete“ with commercial products that have a much higher budget and often a dedicated, professional marketing.
In this text, I try to develop a concept for a Underground Gaming community; if you want only the essential parts, start at 3.

I like the idea but it seems very hard to me to keep a movement alive when society isolates us more than ever. maybe i should get into lemmy
I agree that it somewhat feels like a struggle against windmills, but what alternative is there to trying anyway?
The Lemmy community never got much activity either. Not sure if we should retry it there or try something entirely else.
I do feel that a place like this is missing, the game jam is nice and there's AMAZE once a year but there is nothing the rest of the time
